Miss Torie

We are super excited! Torie has already began teaching our girls and showing us the incredible talent she will bring to the studio.. Torie started in the performance industry at just one year old. Torie started out dancing and modeling and then quickly became involved in many aspects of the industry. With years of competitive dance experience under her belt, Torie was selected for nationals multiple times due to her outstanding hip hop and contemporary numbers. Torie started singing and acting at age nine and has been writing her own music since then. Torie has participated in numerous theatrical performances, playing diverse roles from leading to supporting characters. She can be seen in multiple film roles credited on her IMDb page. Torie has written numerous plays and film scripts, continuing to do so. She began directing shows at age 16 and started teaching dance at 12, finding joy in encouraging students to see their art

Miss Libby

We are super excited to introduce Libby, one of our new Dance Teachers. She has been choreographing a few routines with the girls for next dance season showcasing her passion and talent. We are thrilled to have her as part of our talented dance teachers. Libby, is a passionate dancer and dedicated instructor with over two decades of experience in various styles including jazz, tap, hip hop, ballet, contemporary, modern, acro, lyrical, and more. She began her dance journey at the age of three and competed for seven years, later transitioning into assistant teaching and choreography for her college dance team at Elms College. Since then, she has been sharing her love for dance through teaching multiple classes and crafting award-winning routines. Dance has been a life long passion and Libby inspires to pass on her love of dance to her students.

Shannon Courtney is originally from Auburn, Massachusetts. She started dancing at the age of 6 and later continued her training at The Hanover Theatre Conservatory for the Performing Arts in Worcester. She attended many summer intensives at Festival Ballet Providence, Urbanity Dance, and Alonzo King LINES Ballet. She recently graduated University of Hartford (The Hartt School) magna cum laude with a Bachelor in Fine Arts in Dance Performance.Throughout her time at Hartt, Shannon has had the privilege of working with Hope Boykin, Pascal Rioult, and Norbert De La Cruz III. She's enjoyed her time over the past four years learning and performing Limon, Graham, classical ballet, and contemporary works.

Kyrstin's journey into the dance world began uniquely at the age of 14, when she discovered a passion for recreational dancing. This love for movement quickly evolved into spending 15 years as a dance instructor and studio office manager. However, life took a turn with the arrival of her children, prompting Kyrstin to step away from the studio and inadvertently become less active. Faced with the need to maintain her health, Kyrstin Embraced tap dancing, she embarked on a transformative journey, shedding over 127 pounds naturally. This remarkable achievement spurred her to pursue certifications in personal training and nutrition coaching, driven by a newfound passion for helping others achieve their health goals. Kyrstin's influence extends beyond teaching children; she also creates engaging and inclusive programs for parents. She is an accomplished dancer who has studied dance since the age of 8; studying in ballet, tap, jazz and lyrical. Having taught dance instruction for many years, she has a natural ability to teach and interact with dancers on all levels and abilities. She had the pleasure of learning the art of dance in the very same dance studio as Destined to Dance Academy and feels a natural warmth in the dance studio. She is proud to continue her passion for dance, technique and choreography with DTDA. She has a background in social work and has utilized her dance skills in working with youth of all ages. She also specializes in teaching adults who are interested in learning dance or even just to get out of the house on a regular basis to socialize and get in a little exercise. Her classes can be both technically focused for accomplished dancers who want to hone their skills, or they can be more focused on having a fun time.
